snacks for diwali evening

Diwali is incomplete without snacks, sweets & food.
Food plays a very important role in diwali celebrations.
Diwali is traditionally a time to make a lot of great food.
On the occasion of diwali i make potato pakoras for all at home.
INGREDIENTS:-
Sliced potatos - 3
Onion - 1
Besan - 2/3 cups
Tomato sauce - half small bowl
Red chilli - 1/2 tsp
Ajwain - 1/4 tsp
Turmeric - a pinch
Salt - to taste 
Garam masala - 1/2 tsp
Water - 1 cup
Oil - for frying

INSTRUCTIONS:-
- take besan,salt,turmeric,red chilli,garam masala,ajwain in a bowl.
- mix well.
- add half cup of water and make smooth paste.
- then add sliced potatos and onion in the paste.
- add remaning water in it.
- heat the oil in a pan on medium heat for deep friying.
- now drop the paste into the hot oil.
- fry 5 to 6 pakoras/ fritters at a time, fried them till they are golden brown from both the sides.
- remove the pakoras on paper.
- serve hot with tomato sauce.

importance of rangoli (diwali special)

-Diwali is celebrated to herald the coming of goddess lakshmi, asking for her blessings in the form of wealth. As such rangoli design is created at the entrance of the house , not only to welcome the guest but also the goddess lakshmi.
-rangoli are usually made by using coloured chalk,rangoli powder, rice powder etc.
-no matter the design , diwali would be incomplete without the rangoli to welcome the divine and human both.

INGREDIENTS:-
-cheese : 300 grams
-oil : 3 tbsp
-sliced onion: 4
-capsicums: 2
-salt: to taste
-soy sauce :2 tbsp
- tomato sauce: 3 tbsp
-cabbage: 1
-red chilli powder: 1/2 tbsp
-tomato: 1
-maida: 5 tbsp

METHOD:-
-cut the cheese into small size squares.
-heat 1tbsp oil in a pan.
-roll the cheese squares in maida powder.
- heat cheese until the edges start to turm brown.
-again heat 2 tbsp oil in kadai.
-add the tomato in kadai and wait for 1/2 min.
-then add capsicums, cabbage, sliced onion in it.
-after 2-3 min add cheese,cook on high heat and tossing.
-add salt,soy sauce, tomato sauce,red chilli powder and mix well.
- tossing again until the sauces thickens the gravy.
- serve hot.

Make photo frame at home

MATERIAL:-
-piece of wood
-small piece of mirrors
-glitter
-thread
-paint colours
-paint brush
-glue
-piece of paper

How to make:-
: take a piece of wood in a form of rectangle.
: cut another small rectangle out of the middle of the wood.
: use three colours(copper,silver,golden) to decorate the frame.
: paint it all with brush.
: paste small piece of triangular mirror to decorate it.
: use glitter or anything else you can think of.glue these decoration onto the frame.
: cut a rectangle out of another piece of paper,this rectangle should be slightly smaller than the whole frame.
:attach it from the back side of the frame smoothly on three sides,but make sure to leave one side open so that you can slide the picture in.
:attach piece of thread at the bottom of frame from back side to hang it.
:finished.

peas poha

Peas poha

INGREDIENTS:-
-2 bowl poha
-2tsp refined oil
-2potato (small cubes)
-half bowl peas
-salt to taste
-1tsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
-1/2 red chilli
- 2tsp tomato sauce

METHOD:-
Wash poha and rinse well.drain all the water and keep aside.
Heat oil in pan.add sliced tomato and peas in it.after peas are fried add the small cubes of potato.cook well. Then add the poha. Mix well add the turmeric powder then add salt ,red chilli and lemon juice . the poha should not be too dry.
Serve hot with tomato sauce.

Today on the accasion of krishan janamashtmi i tried some painting ..

-janamashtmi is the birthday of lord krishna.lord krishna was born at midnight on the eighth day of shravana mas(month).
-on this day people visit temples at night ,join their hands and bow their heads in fornt of krishna.
-the main significance of janamashtmi is to encourge goodwill and to discourge badwill...

Desi version of macroni

I realized the importance of cooking.that day i was alone at my home,waiting for my mother to come back home from my aunty's house. So i thought why not cook my ownself. I made a desi version of macroni. Here i share with you the recipe.

INGREDIENTS:-
1 bowl macroni
6 cups of water
3 onions (sliced)
2 tomato (pureed)
1 tsp refined oil
Jeera
Half cup peas
Salt to taste
Half tsp red chilli
Half tsp garam masala
2 tsp tomato sauce
Half tsp lemon juice

METHOD:-
-Boil 6 cups of water and add macroni. Cook for 10-20 mins. Strain the macroni and wash it to the cold water.
- heat a kadai with 1 tsp refined oil and temper with jeera.
- add sliced onion in it and roast the onion properly.
- add pureed of tomatoes & peas in it.
-after 5-7 mins add the boiled pasta in the kadai & mixed well.
- after mixing it add tomato sauce and lemon juice.
- wait for 2 mins.
